Hunter Dean Black Feather Obituary
Hunter Black Feather, 35, of Winner, SD, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Sioux Falls Sanford USD Medical Center. Hunter was born, along with his twin (Lance), on April 3, 1990, to Robert and the late Bonnie (High Rock) Black Feather. He attended school in Winner, Todd County, and Crow Creek. His passion for singing in drum groups led him to meet many people and take many great trips. He aspired to teach others how to sing, especially children. His beautiful voice will remain in our hearts forever.
Hunter was always quick to tease, joke, and smile. He could cook like a pro, and he wasn’t afraid to stand up for himself or those he cared about. His level of compassion and kindness was inspiring. We were blessed to have shared this world with him and will have to carry him in our memories. We hope we are fortunate enough to see him again. We hope to tell those who never met him about his humorous and friendly nature. He was ready to call anyone a friend, and the privilege that came along with it.
Hunter leaves behind his fiancée, Ramona Fredrick, and their three children: Lynx, Reign, and Lillian Black Feather. He is survived by his father Robert and his siblings: Robyn (David) Black Feather of Lower Brule; Erin Black Feather of Winner, SD; Mitchell Black Feather of Winner, SD; Tennille Black Feather of Winner, SD; Lance (Lena) Black Feather of Manitoba, Canada; Robert Bordeaux of Winner, SD, and Patience Ladeaux (Billy) of Schenectady, New York. Along with numerous nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Hunter was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie; his maternal grandparents, Martin & Ramona High Rock; and paternal grandparents, Maria Bosch & Thomas White Lark.
Fate brought us together. We were birds of a feather. Black at that. I wish I could rewind the track. Then I could have been there to have your back. In my mind, body, and soul, you’ll never disappear. Even though death do us part. I hold you in my heart.
“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
