Ronald Bryan Flood Sr. Was born at Rosebud Hospital July 27th 1960. He was raised by his mother Veronica Flood and his grandfather Lawrence Flood on Okreek; and later in the Antelope Community.

He enjoyed his young finishing and camping at the local Dams and Creeks. he graduated from Todd County High School and joined the Marines. He did his basic training in Camp Pendleton California. He was stationed in Okinawa Japan and was honorably discharged. He moved to Denver and joined the United States Army and was also honorably discharged. While in Denver he met Deirdre and started a family. He had his son and namesake Ronald Flood Jr in 1986. In 1991 he they had their daughter Allison Flood. He was a proud member of the American Indian Veterans of Colorado. They provided the color guard for many pow wows in which Rob Jr and Allison were in the dance circle.

He sharped his mechanical skills working on heavy machinery in Denver for 30+ years. He later decided to move to Phoenix, North Dakota, and Texas before returning home to work for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in the roads department. He was an avid outdoors man who loved taking his family camping and fishing when they were young.

Him and Ron Jr who he affectionately called bubba shared the love of live concerts, sporting events, fast cars and great conversation thought their time together.

He and Allison had a special bond. They were very similar with their outgoing personality’s and love for the casino and buffets. He spoiled her with love, toys, and great memories.

He was an amazing father but an even better grandfather. Allison has four children; Enzo, Hazley, Ellery, and Kaleena.

Enzo gave him his official name of “Waka.” We don’t know how or why but that was his name and has been ever since Enzo could talk. Enzo was his first grandchild for 6 years. He loved him so much that he moved almost next door to be with him when he was 2 years old. He spent a a few months taking care of his first granddaughter Hazley and taught her to love a Marine style breakfast; oatmeal, toast, and a hard boiled egg that she still loves to this day.

Ronald Flood was a man of many talents it’s hard to sum up the life of a great man. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
