Obituary for Kyle James "Hoob" Her Many Horses

Kyle James Her Many Horses, born February 10, 1983, to Pearl Leader Charge and Leo (Chico) Her Many Horses, passed away on June 13, 2020.

Kyle, whose nickname was “Hoob,” was the youngest of Pearl and Chico’s three sons. Hoob attended elementary school at Todd County and Wyoming Indian Elementary School in Ethete, WY, and high school at Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, SD and Wyoming Indian High School in Ethete, WY. Hoob was Sicangu and Oglala, and he was enrolled at Rosebud.

Hoob loved the powwow life. He was a fancy dancer. He looked up to the late Darrell Jack, and he loved to watch videos of Isaiah Bob.

Hoob loved the outdoors. He knew the reservation well, and he used his knowledge of the land to help his relatives with wood during the winter and Sundance. Hoob worked at Pe’ Sla as a forestry tech, and he was proud to have played a part in improving the land there.

His son Naca was the love of his life. Hoob attended all of his games, and he shared his love of the outdoors with Naca.

He leaves behind his mother Pearl Leader Charge; father Chico Her Many Horses; stepmother Julie Her Many Horses; partner Trisha Witt; son Naca Her Many Horses; brothers Chuntay Her Many Horses, Dawson Her Many Horses, Taylor Her Many Horses, Sam Her Many Horses, Caleb Her Many Horses, and Keegan Her Many Horses; hunka parents Anna Mae and Wayne Pushetonequa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Hoob was the paternal grandson of Lorna Her Many Horses and the late Leo Her Many Horses, and the maternal grandson of the late Blanche and Garfield Leader Charge.
