Obituary for Edmund J Moran

Edmund Jesse Moran was born on July 20, 1957, at the Rosebud Hospital to Leona Fallis. When he was approximately five, his mother was killed in a car accident and he was raised by his beloved Grandfather, Anton Fallis. Edmund asked that, upon his death, he be cremated and put on top of Anton’s chest.
Edmund attended elementary school in Wood, SD and high school in White River, SD.

Edmund was a plumber most of his life. At the age of 16, he went to work for Harold Deiss of White River, and he stayed with Harold for approximately 13 years. Edmund then became employed with Gale Raymond of Reliance, SD. He worked for Gale for approximately 15 years putting in water treatment plants in South Dakota and Nebraska. He was a skilled equipment operated (skid loader, backhoe and track hoe) and was a foremen on many projects. He worked on the Oahe Dam water treatment plants and other locations along the Missouri River.

Edmund spent approximately three years, working for Gale Raymond, on the water treat system for Eagle Butte. It was at this time that he met and married Carmen White. They were married for approximately two years and he had very fond memories of Carmen. They divorced because she wanted to remain in Eagle Butte and Edmund wanted to move back to White River.

After leaving Eagle Butte, he moved back to White River and finished out his plumbing career with Rosebud Sioux Tribe working for Housing. It was while working for Housing, he met Josie Mack. After developing a friendship at work, they began dating and lived together until he was no longer able to be cared for at home. Josie was his constant companion and was with him when he passed at the White River Healthcare Center on Sunday, April 26, 2020.

Edmund was diagnosed with cancer in 2019 and was in constant pain but he never complained. He was a loyal friend, a hard worker and will be missed by his many friends and family.
