Obituary for Nancy Eileen Blumenstock
Nancy Eileen (Knuteson) Blumenstock, age 64, was welcomed to heaven in the early morning hours of Friday May 3, 2019 from complications after heart surgery.
Nancy was born in Belle Fourche, SD on March 24, 1955 to Harvey and Bonna B. (Price) Knuteson, Jr. She was the third of four children born of this union.
Nancy grew up on her family ranch in Newell, SD where she loved riding her horse and also spending time at the family cabin at Iron Creek Lake near Spearfish, SD.
Nancy married David Davidson and had two children, Lynn and Corrie.
Nancy later married Fred Blumenstock and they had three children, Jake, Katherine and Joseph.
Nancy worked on the ranch and was a homemaker for many years until attending Real Estate school and gaining her Real Estate License, working as a broker and office manager at Weber Real Estate. At the time of her death, she was working at Niobrara Lodge.
Nancy spent her last years with her love, Byron Patterson, enjoying his company and the freedoms of the road on many of their journeys on the back of his motorcycle discovering the beauty of America.
Nancy had a passion for art and spent a great deal of her life producing paintings, drawings, sketches and other artwork that is cherished by many.
Nancy was preceded in death by her father Harvey Knuteson, Jr.; mother Bonna (Price) Knuteson; sister Charlotte (Knuteson) Bethea and brother Eddie Knuteson. She is survived by her brother Dwight Knuteson; her five children: Lynn (Bobby) Schott, Corrie Tjaden (Randy Koperski), Jake (Amy) Blumenstock, Katie (Jake) Helms and Joseph (Kelli) Blumenstock; her grandchildren: Tucker (Lynn); Kobe, Caleb and Kendall (Corrie); Riggin, Owen and Laraine (Jake); Tanner, Reata, Bay and Liza (Katie) and Brooklyn (Joe); and her boyfriend, Byron.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, May 10 and 10:00 a.m. at the Valentine United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to the family and may be sent in care of Holmes Funeral Home.
