Obituary for Lois Marie Emery
Lois Marie Emery was born November 10, 1938, in Rosebud, SD to Robert Alton and Mabel Marie (Whipple) Emery. She passed away February 13, 2019 in Pierre, SD at the age of 80 years. She grew up on the Rosebud Reservation in the Parmelee area.
Her career led her in several directions, but she was most happy working with people. She made a career in Healthcare Administration, working for HIS, Urban Indian Health and other.
Lois will be lovingly remembered by her three children: Bryan Hartmann (Janet) of Valentine, NE, Steven Emery (Nora) of Pierre, SD and Laurie Kelly (Shawn) of Plainview, TX; also her twelve grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, niece Shari Emery Spargur (Jeff) of Sioux Falls, SD and nephew Rob Emery (Cathy) Seattle, WA.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and brother Harold Emery.
