Richard (Dick) Green passed away January 9, 2019 at Pineview Nursing Home at the age of 92.

Dick was born on September 9,1926 to Henry and Alice (Clow) Green near Sparks, NE.  He served in the U.S. Army after graduating from Valentine High School in 1944.  

After his service he returned to Valentine where he met and married Neva Gardiner on November 19,1952. They welcomed three daughters into the world: Cheryl Shelbourn, Brenda Borer and Alicia Gordon. His children remember him as a hardworking, loving father.

Dick first began driving truck for his Uncle Luther.  He later purchased his own truck and transported fuel and other commodities for 30 years.  He then drove a truck for Ross Transfer until retirement.  He also drove a van for the Cherry County Hospital.  Dick logged many, many miles through those years.  He enjoyed driving and the many people he met along the way.

Dick is survived by his three daughters; granddaughters: Jennifer (Shelbourn) Fleck and Jill Borer; grandson Jeff Borer; and two great grandchildren; two sisters: Arlene Robinson and Ruth McAllister. Preceding him in death were his wife,  Neva; granddaughter, Rebecca Sue Shelbourn; his parents; five brother and six sisters.
